Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Pain about a 1-2 early morning, 0-1 during the day.  Pain in back started around 11am, took a muscle relaxant around noon, will take another around 7pm (I can feel the lower back soreness coming back).  Pain in SI still around a 1, but I tripped on my chair (clumsy with crutches) and felt a stab of pain in SI.

Did reach over exercise with weight on my good leg today with no ill effect.  I've been told by Dr. McLane and Steve I can walk in the pool or swim with just arms, but I am going to wait for another day at least.  I don't want any more false starts.

During my nap I dreamt Adam Lambert got kicked off American Idol, must have been post-traumatic stress from last week.  He is soooo good and rather fine when he wears his eyeliner :)

Did you watch it Jon? Man, I like Kris, I think he'll make a good John Mayer type, but he was the worst tonight and Adam was by far the best, and he is the only one who could of pulled off the song Danny Gokey chose too.

Kris is my favorite. I hated Adam for the first few weeks, but he has grown on me. A bit. I still don't like his screeching high stuff.

I hope Gokey goes home. He was horrific on that Aerosmith song, and the ending was actually painful for me to listen to. The judges tried to gloss it over to keep the Adam-Danny final (conspiracy) going, but Danny was terrible.

You guys watch Idol too? This is the first season I have watched. I vote for Kris, Danny and Adam! Adam is amazing, but predictable. Danny's song really was stinky last night, and the judges were wrong about Kris. I could do without the girl.
