Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

15.54k @ 4:50 ave pace.  Met Roberto and he was decked out in professional biker apparel, too sore to run, so he leisurely biked next to me.  Early morning in the am, meant not needed to deal with much bike/ped traffic.

so...whats the verdict? Also, I'm glad you have Roberto but I know he has nothing on me...right!?! (lol)

Very nice! Great job last week surviving the typhoon. Your training is going great!

The verdict is Italy unless it falls through. I wrote up a long response to this in my head during my warm up Thursday night. I miss you terribly MacK, along with the couple of other girlfriends of mine in Utah who know me inside and out and love me anyways. It takes years to build relationships like that, and anyway, its not appropriate to form relationships like that with men, so Roberto will never be to me what you are. After thinking about this for 15 min straight in my warm up I forced myself to think about something else because this line of thinking was too DEPRESSING.

Jody - thanks! it is tough to keep at it, but this is my moment in time!

Don't feel depressed....You know I'm not a sympathetic or sensitive person (hehe)

Too bad for Roberto, he will never know what a crazy, loose cannon you are. :)

I would go with Italy as well but the only sponser I have is my dad....which I appreciate.

What are you going to do for Thanksgiving? I know thats completely not related to running but I was just wondering. Remember our run with Marion on her bike and then your pecan rum pie in the car afterwards......Good Times :)

BTW, it snowed in Woodland Hills today....CRAZY!!!! Glad you left me your hand warmers :)

From MichelleL on Thu, Oct 06, 2011 at 23:08:04 from 58.153.15.64

Oh, I think he gets glimpses of it, hard to hide "loose-cannon" personality trait. Thanksgiving is right after my marathon. Haven't thought about it yet. Perhaps a meal with another family? That's a lot of cooking for just my little family. I see some choc bourbon pie in my future--after my marathon, of course. I will not be needing handwarmers today. I was wondering if the first snow had fallen yet. I am still running in a sports bra w/o shirt on most days.

Won't you miss your snowblowing your driveway? Frank is hunting and I am bored!!!
