Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Woke up at 3:10 am.  The cr*p is really hitting the fan with work.  I ate two pieces of bread and a banana right away, worked for a little over an hour then met MacK for a run.  I definitely ate too much.  Between not enough sleep, working before running, and eating too much before running, I wasn't feeling hot in the run.  I did start to feel better at about 7.5 miles, then I decided I could do more than 10 miles.

Yay, Michelle! Woot. Sorry about the 3:10 wake up call, that really stinks. But you got almost 12 miles of high quality running in today. 12 miles more thanme :) How long is the busy season? Is this the worse, or will it start to pick up as April approaches? I already did taxes, but it seems a lot of people wait until the bitter end.

Wow 3am just sounds brutal! Sorry its getting so busy, I no longer have a husband. I am asleep before he gets home and then he leaves when I am out running. You are amazing accomplishing what you do with a family too!

Benn-It wasn't too bad until this week when all heck broke loose. I am pulling more than 10 hours a day which is hard considering my other responsibilities. It won't get too much worse than this week (please tell me it won't. . .)

Marcie-It was 3:10am. I am saving the 3:00am for later. . .
