Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 8, 6, and 4.

Oh dear, lots of work and not enough hours in the day.  I wanted to run with Josse this morning, but that plan got derailed by work.  I ran on my own from Salem.  I had already put in a couple of hours of work before running, but it was still pitch dark during my whole run.  Because I had been up for a couple of hours and didn't get enough sleep, I didn't feel so hot at the start of the run, did a hilly loop.  Bit the asphalt--fell about 1.9 miles into the run, scraped my knee and elbow, laid on the asphalt trying to decide whether to cry and just turn around (I hate falling while running!) or just keep going.  I kept going.  Pace picked up toward the end.

One more day of heinous work then will still be working alot for another week, have a project backed up waiting for me to begin it.  Maybe I should take up another job, like . . . ok I just sat here thinking of a better job and came up blank. I guess I like my job still ;)

Sorry you biffed it. Usually when I go down it's HARD and stuff gets hurt. Don't you hate these last extension dates. The guys in our office that do taxes are basically living there this week trying to get done.

Let me know where you fell down and maybe I can get my crews down there to fix the hole or what ever it was that made you fall. j/k I am kind of glad to finally hear you talk about a busy work schedule... YOU ARE HUMAN!!! Great run, sorry about the fall.

Hey you! I am so sorry about the crash! :( OUCH!!!!

From Kelsey on Oct 15, 2008 at 16:52:28

Sorry about the fall... that's never fun. I slid down a hill face first a couple weeks ago, but luckily I was only a minute away from being at my car and finished.

I see that extensions were mentioned above... I guess you are an accountant. My parents are and they are miserable right now as well. Yuck. Good luck with everything.

Clyde - I'd call it not living at all when I end up working any more than 9 hours. I have too many other commitments beyond work.

Tyler - be my guest on fixing the road :) Just about .5 miles to the West of your road on Salem Canal, where they're tearing up the road. I might biff it a couple more times before they are done. I won't bore you about the laundry, homework, piano practice, time outs, etc that fill my day beyond the work and running. I can't wait to hit the pillow tonight.

Kelsey - Thanks for the comment. It was great to check out your blog today. So you're a phd student, eh? My husband is a professor at BYU, so we've been through the whole phd school/dissertation jazz. And, yeah, I'm a CPA. Debits and credits rock!

So Michelle I have a confession to make..... That actually is my company doing that work... Sorrryyyy :( There has been some huge holes there are summer, Salem City just gave us the go ahead to fix the road. It was going to be paved back on Monday, but we ran into some soft spot's in the road. I will make sure that we get it fixed for you. Please don't turn us in to your attorney... I can't believe that is where you fell.. So sorry again.

So, I went to Dr. Brady's today and he said I have a chipped bone in my knee from my fall. . .

Guess that means someone is getting sued. . .

Totally just kidding Tyler. A couple of scrapes are all. But get them to fix that fast, K before I do another face plant!
