Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 8, 6, and 4.

I ran alone again, this time without music.  From Salem around the SF riverbottoms loop.  8 strides in the middle.  The wind was strong this morning by the SF canyon.  My legs felt great at the beginning of the run but kind of sore by the end.  I still have just a trace of sore throat, so I am still taking Zicam and trying to get more sleep.

Michelle I have started with the sore throat thing as of yesterday and this morning I had a horrible head ache and my neck is real stiff. I could only stretch and do some sit ups and push ups this morning. I hope were not all sick on Saturday... I'll keep drinking the airborne. Good job on running everyday.. wish I could say the same.

Geez I hope I didn't give you the bug by being in your truck with you. It may just be we're all fighting off the bugs that get transfered around at the start of the school year.

Allergies! Maybe not, but we've all got varying degrees of the afore mentioned symptoms.. I declare them allergies!

Hey what do you recommend for ab work? I can't ever seem to find the right ab stuff.

You know, cause if we are going to be Walsh and May for Halloween, I've got some serious work to do :) Can I just eyeliner on the six pack?

I wish you the best of luck for your race and hope you've shook off your sore throat by then. If these things crop up it's nearly always in race week.

Your comment on Phelps yesterday made me look up his supposed diet published on the bbc website.

Breakfast: Three fried egg sandwiches; cheese; tomatoes; lettuce; fried onions; mayonnaise; three chocolate-chip pancakes; five-egg omelette; three sugar-coated slices of French toast; bowl of grits; two cups of coffee

Lunch: Half-kilogram (one pound) of enriched pasta; two large ham and cheese sandwiches with mayonnaise on white bread; energy drinks

Dinner: Half-kilogram of pasta, with carbonara sauce; large pizza; energy drinks

We can only dream and drool!
