Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 8, 6, and 4.

Couldn't sleep well. Dang!  A little stressed.

Ran with Ali.  It was colder than normal 29F, but not too windy, but it seemed like we pushed it as much as yesterday but ave pace was 8:19.  It's so hard to run in the cold.  Ok, whining over.

Ali made me laugh so hard today when we were talking about how I would mess up my daughter's hair if I had any.  She cuts hair, so she'd know.

Nice running Tex! I have to tell you I have 3 daughters and my wife leaves earlier then me so I have to figure out how to do hair. Its not good! So if the girlies want their hair done nice then they have to get up early.

It was cold out today, wasn't it? It seems like the temperature is dropping again. I was underdressed for the weather - that's for sure.

From marion on Oct 22, 2008 at 11:57:05

My poor girls NEVER had that cute girl hair like the other girls. I am a bad girl mom, as far as the hair goes!

Is it harder to run in the cold? It seems harder! :(

Hey- one more pound and I am ready for another 5k trial. EEK-

How's the lovin' going?

From MichelleL on Oct 23, 2008 at 10:31:02

Walter - were'd I get that Tex nickname? Did you post on my blog in error???? I'm a Cali girl.

Marion - you better explain your lovin comment! It's going good, though abbreviated some of the days. He's eating it up.

From walter on Oct 23, 2008 at 10:36:35

Wow, that was just an insult on my part huh!? Ok no more Tex nicknames for you! lol I think if i said nice running Cal, it wouldnt have that oomph that I was looking for.

From MichelleL on Oct 23, 2008 at 11:22:29

Plus then I would definitely think you were posting on the wrong blog (Cal http://Cal.fastrunningblog.com/)

From marion on Oct 23, 2008 at 11:23:43

I will NOT explain the lovin' comment :D It makes things WAY more exciting and mysterious than they really are :)

I'm glad it is going well :)

From MichelleL on Oct 23, 2008 at 11:52:26

You are a dork! In all the best ways, of course :D

It's a technique for correcting behavior in children - give them lots of physical lovin.

From Marion on Oct 23, 2008 at 13:59:58

Your explanation sounds worse! (yes I am a dork.) Here is a better description- Take one naughty 2-10 year old child. They are naughty at home, school, everywhere :) Take 20-30 minutes everyday and sit with them on the couch, either on your lap or really close with your arm around them and read or talk or whatever. Love love love them. It almost always works to get rid of the snotty behavior and it ususally works really fast.

Hey- you tricked me into explaining my comment- YOUR a DORK!!! ;)

From walter on Oct 23, 2008 at 14:11:49

I could have this whole blog mixed up in my misbehavior right Cal? lol Marion, I admit Im the Dork.

From Cal on Oct 23, 2008 at 14:16:16

sounded like a 'Ghostbusters' reference to me.
