Run St. George 2008 in 2:50 or less, gauge whether an OT time is in my future.

Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 8, 6, and 4.

Let the sleep deprivation games begin!

Felt tired when woke up at 3:55am to start the day.  Did 10.5 on the treadmill.  At first set the speed at 7.0 then kept cranking up until what I thought was just slower than 7:30, but it felt hard, it turned out I had it at 8.4 mph instead of 7.9 so I was accidentally going 7:08.  After that 7:30 felt easy.

3:55!?! That's more suitable as a bedtime than waking time! I hope hope hope this tax season is good to you. You've worked so hard and are in such great shape!

You guys are great!

Lybi - the problem is I try to do things well when I commit to them. I want to run my tax and accounting projects well, and it is hard to squeeze in overtime when you have kids and dinnertime, laundry, etc. I will try to lose it gradually and to lose less fitness this year, which is why I woke up so early and ran. We'll see how long I can manage both.
