Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 8, 6, and 4.

Horrible sleep last night!!! I had a hard time falling asleep initially (pretty typical for Sunday) but my brain has been more stressed and racey lately. At 1am my youngest started screaming bloody murder, then my 6 year old started screaming for JJ to stop screaming, meanwhile I am going up the stairs to see what's going on, and JJ yells back at Mickie "I threw up in my bed!" So he had thrown up, thankfully it was contained in his bed. I lost another hour of sleep trying to fall asleep after doing that clean up. Funny thing is after the clean up I felt starving and ate a banana. You would think my appetite would have left be, but no, not me.

I woke up at the late hour of 7am.

I forgot my gps, which is something I should do more often. I ran an 8.5 mile loop. I will run a few more miles later today.

Ave pace ?????

Weight 124

Noon: I ran 1.5 with Benji in 16:14 (I count this 1/2 mileage) then two more on my own, just under 9 minute pace.

My legs are still sore from the race but the runs and stretching today have helped.

No GPS = good!

I know the feeling! I hate the night time throw-ups! Nothing says- "your a mom and your life STINKS," like cleaning up your sweet barfy babies in the middle of the night ;)

Were you running in Payson today?

From MichelleL on Jun 16, 2008 at 12:26:27

Hey Marion - yeah, I started my run in Salem at around 7:30 so I would have been in Payson from 7:45-8:20 or so. Did you think you saw me? Today I was thinking, "Is that Marion? I'm going to pass her someday and not even know it." Definitely stop me if you recognize me.

I keep telling myself I need to go without the GPS and not care about pace for a while. Good job!

I guess all the "Mom experience" makes you a little immune to those things. I have to admit that I often can't eat for a while after cleaning out the cat litter or picking up after the dogs. However, changing babies doesn't bother me a bit.

I hope Paul had a great Father's Day! Please congratulate him on his race from me!

were you wearing red short and a grey top (or visa versa) I was wearing scary black short cut off sweats and an old yellow top- I think :) I be bold and shout hello "next" time.

From MichelleL on Jun 16, 2008 at 17:45:45

Yeah, that was me. And you got the clothes right too! Most of the time I run earlier than I did today.

From marion on Jun 16, 2008 at 20:26:16

I ususally run earlier too, but if I don't make it out by six, I have to wait unitl 8.
